From a small northwestern observatory…

Finance and economics generally focused on real estate

Well, that was fun!

I had the very real pleasure of contributing the chapter on real estate valuation to a new textbook that was just published, The Future of Real Estate Education, edited by three great scholars in the field, Professors Karen McGrath, Elaine Worzala, and Pernille Christensen. The editors brought together a first-class team of scholars from around the world, and the purpose is to aid in defining and outlining the curriculum for real estate at the university level.

To quote from the introduction:

“The book also emphasizes the importance of integrating broader perspectives into real estate education. Sustainability, interdisciplinarity, and global experiences are explored as essential elements for preparing students to address contemporary issues facing cities and markets.”

Course developers in the field, both at the university level and in the ‘professional education’ arena, would be well advised to consider this work. I’m terrifically proud to be included among the contributors. The book is available from Routledge.

Best wishes, and as always, if you have any questions or comments, please reach out.
